Having tenants during a drought is something a person doesn’t give much thought to. What happens if the yard dies? Is it the tenant’s fault? What if they were restricted in watering times? Can you collect from a security deposit if a lawn dies?
When there is a drought, grass doesn’t survive. Trying to keep any part a security deposit due to trees or a lawn not surviving is a risky place to find yourself. Tenants can have the best intentions, and do all that they can when watering the lawn. If watering restrictions are in place their hands are tied.
