Screening can be as simple as verifying a driver’s license matches the person filling out the application. Even this isn’t always done.

Income verification, what does that mean? Is it looking at pay stubs or w-2s? Talking to employers?

Screening credit can be as little as pulling a credit score, and as much as a full report with details. Many things that sound straight forward really are not. Property managers don’t always do everything they should, and when they are desperate to place a tenant things can go downhill fast.
